Digital Preservation
Nexavium Journal of Cybersecurity and Cyberdefense recognizes the importance of long-term digital preservation to ensure that published scholarly content remains accessible to future generations of researchers. The journal implements a multi-layered archiving strategy to prevent data loss and ensure permanent access.
Permanent Archiving
The journal utilizes the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) to digitally preserve all published articles. This system provides a decentralized and resilient archiving environment through the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) program, ensuring that the journal's content remains safe and accessible even in the event that the journal ceases publication or its primary website becomes unavailable.
Persistent Identifiers
Every article published in Nexavium is assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) through Crossref. The DOI serves as a persistent link to the version of record, ensuring that the academic work remains discoverable and citable regardless of any changes to the journal's web domain or hosting infrastructure.
Self-Archiving and Redundancy
Authors are encouraged to deposit the Version of Record (final published PDF) in their institutional repositories and other national or thematic digital archives. Furthermore, Nexavium maintains its own secure, off-site cloud backups of all published metadata and full-text files to guarantee immediate recovery in the case of technical failure.
By integrating these robust preservation protocols, Nexavium meets international standards for digital continuity, providing a secure and permanent home for high-quality cybersecurity research.
