Screening for Plagiarism

Nexavium Journal of Cybersecurity and Cyberdefense is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and originality in scholarly publishing. All submitted manuscripts are subject to plagiarism screening as part of the editorial evaluation process.

The journal uses Turnitin to assess the similarity of submitted manuscripts against a comprehensive database of academic publications, web content, and other sources. Authors are expected to ensure that their work is original and properly cites all sources.

The journal applies a maximum similarity index threshold of 20%. Manuscripts that exceed this threshold may be returned to the authors for revision or rejected without further review. However, editorial decisions are not based solely on the overall percentage. Particular attention is given to the nature of the similarities, especially in cases involving unattributed text, improper citation, or significant overlap with previously published work.

All forms of plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, duplicate publication, and inappropriate paraphrasing, are considered unethical and unacceptable. If plagiarism is detected at any stage of the submission or publication process, appropriate actions will be taken in accordance with the journal’s ethical policies and COPE guidelines.

Authors are strongly encouraged to perform independent similarity checks prior to submission to ensure compliance with the journal’s standards.
